Self Defense When Encountering A Street Brawl

By Vincent Grammar

What do you feel when you happen to be in a street fight? Whether your fight is a result of a frequent domestic conflict, or you are attacked by a killer, robber, or even some stranger, your blood will flow faster depending on these circumstances. Commonly these sort of conflicts happen due to arguments, and you should behave normal in this case because nobody looks for a fight essentially so they are just trying to rid of the negative energy that was raised. The other person may threaten you or make expressive motions but if you cool off then nothing else may occur.

Normally the beliefs of hand-to-hand fighting are the same, however a spar fight in a gym differs very much from the one that happens out in the street. If you feel calm when fighting in a sports gym and are not scared about lethal pain, then you'll at least feel very nervous when you engage your enemy out in the street. Your actions will be faster most likely and you could do anything for self defense.

Lots of things depend on who initiates the battle first normally. If the other person initiates the fight, then you have to prevent your enemy's attack and take the lead over him. I suggest you to not start any insignificant fight if you are able to avoid it. If you are not able to do that and know you will be attacked eventually, you should then act quickly and even harshly to end the confrontation quick.

This is the main difference with a street fight compared to exhibition at a gym. When you train in the sports gym, it's not serious at all who will attack first. Both fighters are prepared to attack and defense which is different being in a street fight. Adversaries out in the street have different stances and are usually within hitting area of each other quite frequently. In essence, someone who strikes first has a huge advantage. Their first attack can be most vicious and strong.

It is important to remember that when an attacker who initiates a confrontation with you is because they think they have an advantage in either strength, friends accompanying them, or they are armed with something. Therefore, I strongly recommend you to try and avoid any street fight at any cost because there really is no value in the end. - 31491
